LOUISIANA DELTA REDFISH

LOUISIANA DELTA REDFISH

The Louisiana Delta is one of the most diverse saltwater and freshwater fisheries in the world.
The delta is almost 2.7 million acres of coastal wetlands.
This is the only place in the world you can catch a redfish, speckled trout, flounder, bass, snapper, and tuna in the same day.
The world class fishery might only be second to the culinary delights of the region. The fresh seafood and Cajun music from this region will make you smile after a great day of catching giant fish in the Louisiana Delta.
Our Gulf Redfish Outfitter has three different lodges for you to choose from or move to based on fishing patterns in the Louisiana Delta.

The Marsh Lodge

Start where the road ends south of New Orleans in Venice, Louisiana and travel with us another 20 miles downriver to the mouth of the mighty Mississippi River itself.

Stay at the historic Port Eads Lodge. The newly constructed, state of the art facilities have been built on the original location, including two expanded and updated lodges. The lodges sit in the middle of the Louisiana Marsh and are reachable by boat, helicopter, or airplane only.

The lodges offer anglers the ability to fish the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico without making the long runs each day from the marinas located in Venice.

The inner marsh for 20 miles on either side of the lodge, offers some of the best inshore fishing for trout, redfish, flounder, and tarpon in the world.

Each lodge, known respectively, as the “North” and “South” camps, can host up to 24 anglers each with all the comforts of home, including:

  • private baths in each bedroom
  • Large screen satellite TV’s
  • Fully stocked bar
  • Full service restaurant.Fishing

THE FISHING

The waters at the mouth of the Mississippi River have been often described as the most fertile waters in the world. The combination of these nutrient rich waters, in close proximity to the continental shelf, sets the stage for one of the planet’s most incredible fisheries. Port Eads anglers will have the options to fish the nearby blue water in search of the giant tuna and marlin that call the Gulf of Mexico home, visit the offshore rigs, bottom fishing for some of the most desirable species for the table, or head into the adjacent marshes for the tackle busting giant redfish and speckled trout that first made this fishery famous. Sporting Classics Magazine described Port Eads as “…the number one marina and fishing destination in the Gulf of Mexico.” We have the top Captains for all of your fishing needs from Fly Fishing to Inshore with Conventional Gear or out to the blue wonders of the Gulf of Mexico. Daily charters can be booked for both offshore and inshore fishing on boats of various sizes to accommodate groups of any size. Anglers can return each day from fishing to the magnificent new lodges, where they will enjoy professionally prepared local and regional cuisine to round out the whole experience. We have certified and award winning Chef’s and a full time house staff to wait on you during your entire stay. With accommodations for up to 48 anglers, Port Eads Lodge is the perfect destination for both small private groups, or for corporate entertaining.
